BASIC MANAGEMENT COURSE(BMC)

AIM OF BMC:

The aim of Basic Management Course is:
To develop participant’s knowledge, skills, and potential so as optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
To sensitize the participants in public interest and groom them for better overall performance.

SCOPE OF BMC:

Familiarize the participants with the basic framework of public administration & public management in AJK. Develop participant’s understanding of the socio-cultural values, beliefs and attitudes and their relevance to policy implementation and governance.
Enable the participants to apply concepts and techniques of management and tools of empirical analysis & decision making. Enhance participant’s comprehension about financial management skills and their application about economic policies at the micro level and familiarize them with macroeconomic factors that influence economic management and its future trends.
Equip participants with research and analytical skills for enhanced performance on the job. Facilitate participant’s good health and introduce variety in their course routine through co-curricular activities. To assist in personality development and enhance communication, interpersonal skills so as to improve  effectiveness.

The Kashmir Institute of Management (KIM) functions at the national level on the lines of NIMs (Pakistan) under National School of Public Policy (NSPP). The National School of Public Policy came into existence in March, 2005 in order to organize, inter alia, training for civil servants from pre-service entry level training at Civil Services Academy Lahore to the highest level at National Management College (Pakistan Administrative Staff College). The National Institute of Management Peshawar, Karachi, Quetta and NMC wing Lahore and now KIM Muzaffarabad are charged with the responsibility of organizing those courses. In addition to JSC, MCMC and SMC, in the 2nd meeting of the Board of Governors, a training course for grade 17 officers was approved to be conducted at KIM..
